He chuffed and nosed him-his whole head could easily fit in his mouth-his scent now familiar to him, and he gave one ear a lick before lumbering deeper into the woods as the sun dipped low on the horizon. The cold no longer an issue with his fur coat, though as it was very unusual for a bear to be out of hibernation, he had to keep an eye out for people. Not that there were many up here but just in case.
